Pressure Posts

Okay, okay! I’ve been a little busy. I might not be posting but I have been writing here and there. A lot is happening with HKfamily5 and I finally found a moment to gather my thoughts while the family is on vacation. I’ve even managed to finally write the kids 9th and 14th birthday posts and reveal their portraits for those birthdays. Those posts will follow this post shortly.

Where are we, as a family, mostly trying to keep our heads above water. A lot of change has happened for our immediate and extended family. The biggest changes came this spring, when my mother and my mother-in-law decided it was time for a move closer to us. Change always presents its challenges but the final decision allows you to find new hope and comfort in new surroundings. The comfort is most certainly built into three grandkids being a lot closer and more present for special events.

Shortly after my mother moved into her new apartment she was able to go see Paley in middle school production of A Midsummer Nights Dream. Something she probably wouldn’t have been able to do with the long drive back and forth to San Ramon. Then there is melting heat we had this summer. Both grandma’s have settled in their new abodes.

Now let's move onto the remodel. Yes, the remodel we have been talking about for two and half years. We are officially those people, all talk and no action. Right now we are in our second attempt at the permit process, YES! I said second. We are hopefully these recent steps have moved us closer to being on the road to demolition. I plan on doing posts for the remodel and also creating a instagram account to showcase the progress in images. Right now, I am just focused on looking at those contractor bids and figuring out where we could cut down on costs.

Back to the family! The kids are amazing. I am in the process of working on Summer Camp posts with them and maybe a few posts for the big school that is coming up. It’s hard to believe our little Paley is a young woman heading into her freshman year of high school. I say young woman because she looks like nothing like a teenager, nor does she have the absence of maturity like a teenager.

The twins are chugging along with summer and eager for sports in the Fall. More on that subject soon. For now. Welcome back and I promised more content is coming. My hope is to go back to a new post every Friday.
