Christmas Movie List: Fourth Edition

Every year I bring this list to life, to share with everyone a selection of great movies to watch during the holidays. Now, I typically watch almost all of these movies during the holiday, which means I usually watch them from November first till New Years eve. This year I been slowly checking off a movie here and there. One movie that I just watched, made the list a year are two back and I for the life of my I have no idea why I added it to the list. The Philadelphia Story.  No clue why this one is holiday related. I am just a sucker Katharine Hepburn. Speaking of actresses who I love to watch during the holidays, Love the Coopers brings back Diane Keaton to here perfect casting genre, over the top mom during the holidays. While this movie just came out this year to the theaters, it’s most certainly making the list next year. I am very interested in seeing this film because when I saw the cast of The Family Stone, I had my doubts and boy was I wrong about that movie. I fell in the love with that movie because it spoke to validating my own family dynamic. The same can be said for The Ref and Home for the Holidays. I am so Holly Hunters sister! I Love me some Diane. “You are such a JERK!” I think 2016’s Holiday Movie list will see many new additions with The Coopers and The Night Before with Seth Rogen.

So what am I adding to the years list? The first movie I am adding has an actress who has been on my mind a lot this year. Not sure why? Mixed Nuts which stars comparable Madeline Kahn along with Steve Martin and even a gorgeous trans Live Schreiber. The movie was written and directed one of my all time favorites, Nora Ephron. The movie is just one comedic mishmash of some amazing talent. I think it’s the first movie that I really notice Rita Wilson, although I had first saw her in Sleepless in Seattle.

The second addition is a favorite French film called Joyuex Noel. Set during World War I the film is about the true story about the German, French and Scottish soldiers cease fire on Christmas Eve. The troops came together and celebrated the holiday they all had in common. This film was beautifully shot and stars Diane Kruger (National Treasure) and Guillaume Canet (Love Me if You Dare) [who I love with great passion].
